Mice and rats are always in search of food and a safe place to breed. Their teeth constantly grow and in order to keep them down they need to chew and gnaw at things to file them down. Their nesting and gnawing habits can cause damage to walls, flooring, and wiring, and they often carry bacteria that can cause illness in humans and pets.

Ants are common insects that can be found mostly anywhere in the world. While there are many different species of ants, all ants have a few characteristics that are defining. They have bodies with three segments: a head, an abdomen and a thorax. In addition, all ants have six legs and antennae that are bent.

Common household pests, cockroaches are attracted to food sources and moisture. There are many different cockroaches, some including the; German cockroach, American, Oriental and the Turkestan cockroach. They may carry bacteria like E. coli and salmonella and can contaminate food and surfaces, which may make humans sick.

There are thousands of different species of spiders in the world. Some house varieties can indicate the presence of other pests such as ants, beetles, or flies. Spiders are arachnids, a group of arthropods that also include mites, tics, and scorpions. All arachnids have eight legs.

Difficult to control, bed bugs spread easily and reproduce rapidly. They can hitch a ride on clothing or migrate from neighboring units in apartment or condo buildings.
